Barrie was wonderful to work with and we love our wedding photos. We first heard about Barrie because she was a preferred photographer for the wedding venue we worked with. She was prompt in getting back to us via email and set up a “get to know you call” to make sure our personalities would align and that we understood her approach before entering into a formal business relationship.

Barrie is a seasoned wedding photographer - which is exactly what you want. She has a check list for you to go through before the wedding day to ensure that you get all the photos and group photos you want. Come wedding day she is the ultimate ringmaster - corralling increasingly unwieldy guests and magically being everywhere all the time, but blending in and not making you aware that you were being photographed. We took this for granted in the moment, but my sister got married a few months after us and had a less experienced wedding photographer. The difference was stark and I have a much deeper appreciation for just how important it is for your wedding photographer to be able to take charge and anticipate the important moments you want captured. Barrie was always tracking the lighting as the wedding day progressed and would seamlessly sneak us out of the reception for quick shots to take advantage of new photo opportunities.

The weekend/day went by in a blur and even though less than a year has passed, we already barely remember the experience. The photos are something we absolutely cherish and have preserved the intimacy and excitement of the day. There’s nothing better to spend your valued money on.

Neither myself nor my husband were comfortable in front of a camera and we were a little nervous about being able to get beautiful photos. Barrie was a great coach and made lots of little adjustments without making you feel embarrassed about your lack of modeling expertise. If we were too stiff or having trouble relaxing she had lots of tips/tricks and was able to cut tensions and get you laughing. Our wedding was postponed a year and Barrie was wonderful in reworking our contract to honor the new date. She even gifted us an engagement photo package to ease the COVID woes - which is such a testament to her character. She may shoot hundreds of weddings, but she makes yours feel like the most important. In retrospect, I would highly recommend an engagement shoot - even if you don’t care that deeply about preserving the moment, it was wonderful to have an opportunity to work with Barrie prior to the wedding. It helped us get the photo jitters out and figure out what our modeling pitfalls were.

We can’t say enough wonderful things about Barrie. Wedding photos (in our opinion) were not the place to scrimp financially and we absolutely valued our product at the price we paid.
